Mary Pappin Wegars

Wegars, Mary Pappin Died peacefully in her Calistoga, CA home on May 20, 2007, surrounded by her family and beloved cats. She was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, on December 7, 1941. In 1966, Mary moved to San Francisco where she worked for 20 years in the employment industry. She attended San Francisco City College and San Francisco State University. In 1984 she married Don Wegars, a journalist at the San Francisco Chronicle. When her husband retired, the couple moved to Friday Harbor in the San Juan Islands. In 1993, Mr. Wegars became the editor of the St. Helena Star and they moved to the Napa Valley. Don died unexpectedly in 1996. Mary continued her business, In Place Personnel by working from her home. Mary was a lifetime member of the Sharpsteen Museum in Calistoga and a supporter of KQED. She is survived by her brother, Gordon Maloney and his wife Janet, of Minneapolis; four nieces, Diane Maloney, Vicki Olson, Sam Charbonneau and Kay Edlund, all of Minnesota; and her many loving friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 26, at 2 p.m. in the garden of her home. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Sharpsteen Museum, P.O.
